The classes will be held online, over Zoom. We will also be hosting a field day for attendees in late March. This seminar will be aimed at the beginner beekeeper, however anyone who has interest may attend. Topics to be covered: Bee Biology Woodenware & Setup/Location Tools & Protection Colony Inspection Disease and Pests Acquiring and Installing a Colony Curveballs Important Timelines Recommended textbooks (not required): - The Beekeepers Handbook (Fourth edition), Diana Sammataro and Alphonse Avitabile - Story's Guide to Keeping Honey Bees, Malcom Sanford and Richard Bonney - Beekeeping for Dummies, Howland Blackiston - First Lessons for Beekeeping, Keiths Delaplane As more research is done, information distilled, techniques perfected the texts change. We would recommend getting the most recent revision of the textbook you'd like to use.
